People across the world, regardless of their country of origin, go through the same key life stages: birth, coming-of-age, union, and death. Though universal, those key milestones are celebrated in very different ways from one culture to the next. The Human Life Cycle four-part miniseries invites us to discover dozens of initiation rites from around the world. While travelling the world and more than 15 countries over 2 years, alternating between busy urban centres and the most remote places on the planet, the team of The Human Life Cycle witnessed dozens of significant ceremonies and events. The series takes a closer look at ancestral and traditional rites as well as milestones in modern societies, while respecting every culture. Jumping from one country, community, and religion to the next, each episode explores the celebrations and customs around one of the four key stages of life.
